American R/D

American R/D, a division of McWane, Inc., manufactures and sells metal-seated ductile iron gate valves and an assortment of other in-plant valve products. We produce a double revolving/rotating disc gate valve in sizes 3”-72” and a solid wedge gate valve in sizes 2”-96” for both water and wastewater applications. Also, we sell/produce a resilient wedge gate valve for use in water applications in sizes 2”-48”.

The history of American R/D dates back to 1997, when it was founded by three owners and established out of Woodstock, Georgia. Prior to this, two of the owners were manufacturing the solid wedge gate valve for over 20 years for wastewater and water applications and selling it in the northeast part of the United States.

• In 1997, American R/D purchased the pattern and tooling equipment for the large diameter double revolving/rotating disc gate valves from American Flow Control, division of American Cast Iron Pipe Company (ACIPCO) and the rights to the users list and valve installations.
• In 1997, American R/D builds their manufacturing and warehouse facility in Calera, Alabama.
• In January 2006, the company was purchased by McWane, Inc.
• In 2006, the company relocates and centralizes its home sales/engineering offices and warehouse operations to Anniston, Alabama.

Today, American R/D sells and channels its entire in-plant valve products through select manufacturer’s sales reps located throughout North America. We actively focus on selling direct to contractors, who construct water and wastewater treatment plants, force mains, water transmission mains, and pumping stations.

All American R/D manufactured products conform to all applicable AWWA, ANSI, and ASTM standards.
